Memories
Tears glisten in my eyes
each and every day,
three years gone by,
yearning for you in silence.
A smile graces my face
almost every dawn,
remembering your
loving whispers
hugs, jokes, pranks,
and hearty laughs
through twenty-five cherished years.
Thoughts arise often,
triggered by little things:
photos, souvenirs, presents,
scattered around the house,
echoing in the neighborhood,
vivid in my mind.
Only your tender memories
reside in my broken heart,
sustaining me with
a fragile hope
of meeting you again,
somewhere, someday,
in Samsara.
