No More Sunshine

My dear sun,

You were my hero,

My inspiration,

My endless love,

The reason for my joy,

My morning cheer.

When you descended

At dusk, I bowed with you,

Slumbered in your absence,

Dreaming of greeting you

At dawn, as you awoke.

But those days are gone.

The last time you left,

I waited endlessly,

Yearning for a glimpse of you

Moving elegantly once more,

From the east

To the west.

My wait has ended now,

Placed in a lifeless vase,

Shrouded in darkness,

Enveloped in boredom.

No more reason remains

To be cheerful or hopeful

Ever again.
